Kenyans in Munich held a Cultural Day on Saturday 5th September, 2015. The event, which is in its second year, saw Kenyans sharing, networking, entertaining and showcasing our rich diversity in culture, cuisine and music. Speakers at the event included H.E. Amb. Joseph Magutt, Mr. Robert Roth from Austria, and Mr. Joachim Niehaus from Freiburg.
In his speech, Ambassador Joseph Magutt thanked the organizers for providing a social platform for Kenyans to interact thereby promoting unity and cohesiveness among the Kenyan Diaspora. He stated that the Diaspora was an important constituency that the Government was keen to tap on for National Development and Prosperity. He noted that the current Constitution mandated the Government to facilitate the Diaspora in exercising their voting rights as well as Dual citizenship. He urged Kenyans to be goodwill ambassadors in the host country and to exploit investment opportunities. Other speakers at the event encouraged Kenyans to engage in meaningful activities that will add value to their lives.
